The Apprentice - You're Hired!
(11/06/2008)
We are pleased to announce the appointment of three apprentices to train with Haymills as part of the Flagship/Haymills Apprenticeship Challenge, a new initiative to help tackle worklessness. The 25 short-listed candidates had been assessed by professionals during May of this year to identify the strongest contenders. The successful candidates, one from each of our three housing associations, will undergo training in construction, working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in carpentry.
Each apprentice will attend a local college on a day-release basis, as well as work alongside experienced Haymills trade operatives within Flagship homes across the region. Their two year journey of work and ‘on the job’ training starts in September.
It is anticipated that this initiative could be extended into other trade disciplines such as bricklaying, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
On behalf of Flagship Housing Group, we wish them a bright and successful future.
