A Norwich housing provider and its sister heating company have won big at regional awards after helping thousands of families slash their energy bills.

Flagship Housing and Gasway - which are both part of Bromford Flagship - took home top prizes at the Energy Efficiency Awards for the east of England. Flagship won Regional Housing Association/Landlord of the Year, while Gasway claimed Regional Boiler & Heating Installer of the Year.

Gasway also picked up two 'highly commended' runner-up spots in Regional Solar PV Installer of the Year and Regional Renewable Heat Installer of the Year.

David Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer at Bromford Flagship, said: "These awards show what our teams achieve when they focus on making life better for customers. Each upgrade means we’re making it easier to heat homes, pay less for energy, and we get closer to carbon neutral."

The wins follow a bumper year of home improvements. Flagship completed over 8,400 upgrades between April 2024 and March 2025, covering everything from basic loft and wall insulation through to cutting-edge air-source heat pumps and solar panels. The team also fitted new fire doors, replaced windows and upgraded gas and oil heating systems.

The programme cost over £32 million, including £4.1 million from the Government's Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund. Gasway completed 1,625 boiler and heating installations during the same period.

Nick Bartram, Gasway's Managing Director, said: "Gasway has been part of East Anglia’s heating story since 1982, but we’ve never stood still. These awards reflect how we’re evolving, combining decades of experience with new technology to make a real, lasting impact. We hope that every improvement we make helps ease the pressure on our customers and tenants, making life a little warmer and less stressful."

The upgrades will save customers millions every year while helping Flagship and Gasway reach their net zero target by 2050.

They will now compete for national titles at the Energy Efficiency Awards in Birmingham in November.
