Flagship Homes to host shared ownership discovery day
Flagship Homes, will run the event from 9.30am to midday on Saturday 3 October, in The Legends suite at Norwich City’s ground.
The morning will include short talks from a panel of shared ownership specialists, covering how the government-backed scheme works, how to get yourself mortgage ready, and what it means to live as a shared owner over the longer term. Members of the Flagship Homes sales team will be there throughout to answer questions.
James MacPhail, Head of Sales and Marketing at Flagship Homes, said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who thinks owning their own home is simply unaffordable for them to come along and learn about shared ownership.
“You buy a share of a home, in some cases as low as 10%, and you pay rent on the remaining share.
“As you are only buying a share of the home, the deposit you need to put down, typically only a few thousand pounds, is much less than if you were buying the home outright.
“Also, as part of the sales process, we’ll make sure that you can sustain the monthly costs over the longer term as well.”
Advisers will be on hand so visitors can get a rough idea of how much they could borrow and what they would need to set aside for legal costs.
Many of the developments Flagship Homes is building across Norfolk and Suffolk include shared ownership homes. That includes five homes at Crane’s Green in Dereham, part of a wider scheme of 39 affordable homes, and Carter’s Green in Swaffham, where 20 of the 51 new homes will be shared ownership. Flagship Homes is also selling shared ownership homes at Festival Park in Easton, built by Persimmon, and Park View in Holt, built by Lovell.
There will be free tea and coffee, and everyone who comes along will be entered into a draw for a new Amazon Echo Show 5. Visit flagship-homes.co.uk/shared-ownership-discovery-day to register.
