Hopestead

Ending homelessness in the East of England

Hopestead is a charity set up by Flagship in 2020 with a mission to end homelessness. It works in partnership with Flagship in the East of England and with the wider Bromford Flagship LiveWest organisation. Data in 2026 shows that more people are experiencing homelessness in our country than at any time since records began.

Hopestead believes everyone deserves a place to call home. This means more than just four walls – a home is a foundation for stability, growth, and hope.

Here is what Hopestead is doing to make a difference.

Hope at Home

We need to help people create places where they can thrive and can truly call home. That’s what Hope at Home sets out to achieve.

Some people who have previously experienced homelessness will already have furniture and other items they need to get started when moving into a Flagship-owned home. But many don’t, and those are the people Hope at Home is designed to help. Flagship colleagues connect these people to Hopestead so they can help out.

Hope Funds

Hopestead gives grants to charities and other groups working to address homelessness in different ways. These partners provide emergency shelter, financial aid, counselling, employment skills, and much more. By working together, Hopestead delivers greater impact towards its goal of ending homelessness.

Building Hope

Hopestead works with fellow charities and other partners to directly increase the amount of accommodation in the East of England for people who have experienced homelessness.

Two modular homes were built in Ipswich and have been in use since 2023. They provide a temporary but stable environment for people transitioning out of homelessness. Twelve new flats were built in Norwich and have been used since spring 2026.

Voice of Hope

This is Hopestead’s campaign to raise awareness of homelessness, what it looks like, what causes it and how to overcome it. Homelessness is often caused by systemic issues like the cost-of-living crisis, a lack of affordable housing, and insufficient support services.

By sharing human stories, Voice of Hope puts a spotlight on the reality of homelessness and calls for action and believes everyone deserves a place to call home.
