We've recently become aware of issues involving fan lamps, which combine a light fitting and a fan in one product. These devices are often designed to plug directly into an existing light fitting and can be found on a range of online marketplaces. 

While they may seem like a convenient solution during warmer weather, some products have the potential to cause electrical problems. In some cases, continued use can lead to wiring becoming damaged, which may result in short circuits, tripped electrics and potentially create a fire safety risk.

If you're using one of these products, stop using it and seek advice if you notice:

We've also seen reports of replacement shower heads being sold online that claim to increase water pressure. While these products may sound appealing, they’re not always compatible with existing shower systems and can cause damage to the shower unit.
